I know orange is technically the opposite of blue, but I always feel like it’s the opposite of gray.

More grid work, 7″ x 5″:

May 7

A pair of mourning doves made a nest in a hanging plant on my front porch.  They are very calm and don’t seem to mind me looking at them or taking pictures.  Here is one of the parents (the parents take turns on the nest) and the two babies.  The babies have a lot of feathers now and might be ready to leave soon.

Still thinking of grid, but also fern leaflets…

May 3 – oil pastel on paper – 7″ x 5″

I did a few things in April that I’m happy with, and it took a while to get them scanned/photographed right.  I’m thinking about a grid-like geometry on the page, sort of like Klee or early Mondrian.  Two strange minds at work, they liked an almost nitpicky geometry to fall over the plane but in completely different ways.
